The Greenleaf Gazette, our official newsletter, is delighted to announce that our very own mini-expert, HavanaHolly, will be taking over the Quick Tip section of the newsletter each month.   For those of you who know Holly from our forum, you know that she’s a walking encyclopedia of miniature information, tips and tricks.  Holly’s expertise and her practical approach to building, decorating and creating miniatures is one of our most valuable resources, so we’re looking forward to her gems of wisdom each month.  Watch for “Havana Holly’s Quick Tips” beginning in the March Gazette!

Miniature Beach House - Just a glance will warm you up!

Miniature beach dollhouse A big thanks out to Josi Bates for helping us out with her great little beach house!  We fell in love with this house when we came across it at the Greenleaf Dollhouse Gallery… the gears started turning on what a great ad it would make.  We contacted Josi and she was nice enough to agree to help out.  We love it when we can use the gallery in this manner; it’s a real source of inspiration around here.  There are so many great works of art and it’s amazing to see what people can accomplish with our houses.  We are always looking for our next great ad, so be sure to post your pictures at the Greenleaf Dollhouse Forum.

In fact, Heidi was the May 2007 Member of the Month.  We’re delighted that Heidi has agreed to apply her talents to help us get to know more members of our online family. Welcome Heidi!!

Doll House Pictures at the Greenleaf Gallery provide another great advertisement

Doll house pictures from the Greenleaf Doll House Gallery provide a great source of inspiration, not only to other miniaturist, but also to the folks here at Greenleaf.  We spend countless hours browsing through your photo’s, and are often amazed at what we find.  For our October ad campaign, we came across Holly Moore’s Haunted Dollhouse in the Greenleaf Gallery, which we used as a cornerstone in our Halloween promotion (The ad is pictured below).   We were happy to be able to showcase her work on the inside cover of the big three mini magazines as well as our web site.  Thanks again Holly!

Holly Moore's Beacon Hill Doll House Pictures

Once again, Greenleaf has gone to the gallery and found another great house for our March Ad campaign!  We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but the miniature project we’ve used in this ad was just to cute to pass up.  This dollhouse will be on the inside covers of Miniature Collector, Dollhouse Miniatures and American Miniaturist magazines early this February!  A big thanks out to this talented miniaturist for sharing their work with all of us!

Remember, the Greenleaf Gallery is open to all, so be sure to post your doll house pictures!  You never know, it might just make you famous!

The Aster Cottage finds its way on to another magazine cover

The Aster Cottage Dollhouse The January edition of Miniature Collector Magazine featured a wonderful cover story that involved the Aster Cottage doll house kit.  Pat Strahan of Tulsa, Oklahoma did an amazing job of book ending two Aster Cottages side by side into what she calls the “Log Cottage”.  It’s really a fantastic article that is worth a read, with plenty of pictures of an amazing kit bash.  A big thanks to our friends at Scott Publishing for providing us with this photo of the cover and, of course, a big shout out to Pat for showing us the true potential of this darling little kit.

Teresa Martens leaving the Greenleaf Gazette

I am sad to announce that after the December issue, Teresa Martens will be leaving the Greenleaf Gazette.  Teresa originally came up with the idea of the Greenleaf Member of the Month section of the newsletter and developed it into a fan favorite.  It quickly became a cornerstone of the monthly online publication as Teresa interviewed respected miniaturists from around the world. We here at Greenleaf send out a big thanks to Teresa for all her hard work over the last year!

I would highly recommend a visit to Teresa’s amazing Dollhouse Photo Show and of course, a visit to her web site.

Tracys Topps, miniature artist and owner of Minis on the Edge Custom Dollhouses, has another magazine cover to add to her collection!  Miniaturas Magazine will have a cover article and multi-page spread featuring her amazing work with paper clay in their November 2007 issue.  Though the article is in Spanish, it translates into one great story with some fantastic pictures!
