Wow! Another banner year for the Spring Fling Contest! Again, the judging was near impossible and this year, I had to step up into the judges seat to finally resolve the contest. It was difficult for me as I feel I know many of you personally, but I ensure you that I remained impartial. We did bend the rules a bit like last year and added another winner with a two way tie for third place. I honestly felt like everyone was a winner, so I’m sending out a gift to all entries which you can read about at the bottom of this post. So with out further delay, I present you the winners of the 2009 Spring Fling Contest:

Our goal at Greenleaf has always been to keep dollhouses and miniature collecting an affordable hobby.  With that in mind, you can imagine the challenge when we are designing for our Spring Fling Contest.  We need to have a project that not only surpasses affordable, but we also have to deliver it to you free of charge.  In an effort to meet that end, we are offering this years contest house with a roof upgrade option.  The standard roof on the right offers the appearance of a metal roof.  The upgraded roof on the left is made up of the wood slats that offers a unique alternative.  The upgrade kit will be available at the time of purchase for an additional charge.

I would like to start off by thanking all of you who participated in this contest. As the entries started rolling in this year, I sat with a smile saying to myself, now that’s the winner! As the entry count climbed, a feeling a dread crept in… it was just going to be impossible to pick the winners. I wasn’t alone; the judges went from glee to gloom as we neared the end of almost 250 pictures. One of the judges even resigned which left me with no choice but to call my Mom out the bull pen to help. It was a daunting task, but after rounds of voting and a lot of shouting, the decisions were made. With that being said, I present you the winners of the 2008 Spring Fling Contest:

Greenleaf is proud to announce the start of our second annual Spring Fling Contest (formally the Heart Arbor Contest)! Last years contest was such fun, we decided to make a whole new kit just for this contest! This mini workshop is a great project to get you in the spring mood! It’s a fine little building on its own and will look great sitting next to your dollhouse!

To make this years contest extra interesting, we’re going to name this new building after the winner! That’s right, instead of the Greenleaf Workshop, we’ll rename it after you - for example, Mary’s Workshop! Now how cool is that?
